Middle school
Junior high/Middle School has 4 levels:
- 6e is at the end of Cycle 3 (Cycle 3 is composed of the 4th and 5th year of elementary school and the first year of middle school);
- 5e, 4e, and 3e make up Cycle 4.
The middle school is located on a campus dedicated to secondary education.
In addition to meeting the academic standards that strictly follow the French National Education curriculum, EFI implements an ambitious language policy:
- Enhanced English instruction: up to 7.5 hours of English classes or classes taught in English (such as Science, Visual Arts, and Music).
- Arabic for all: 7 hours of classes in Arabic for Arabic speakers (Arabic language and History-Geography in Arabic) and 2.5 hours for non-Arabic speakers.
- …and a third mandatory language for all students starting in Grade 7: Spanish or Mandarin (students’ choice).
Middle school pedagogical specificities
All Arabic-speaking middle school students follow the Arabic International Section (SI Arabe) until the end of Grade 9, with 5 hours of Arabic language and literature, and 2 hours of History-Geography in Arabic (in addition to 2 hours of History-Geography in French).
All middle school students, regardless of nationality, have 4 hours of English language classes per week and, starting in Grade 8, study Science, Visual Arts, and Music in English.
All students are required to choose a third foreign language (Spanish or Mandarin) starting in the 7th grade (5e), for 2 hours per week.
National Diploma (DNB – Diplôme National du Brevet):
In Grade 9, EFI Casablanca prepares its students for the DNB (Diplôme National du Brevet) or the DNBI Arabe (Diplôme National du Brevet International Arabe), which marks the completion of Cycle 4.
As part of their career guidance program (upcoming pathway), Grade 9 students complete a one-week internship for workplace observation.
