Personal development

Développement de l’esprit scientifique

EFI awards a very important place to the development of a scientific mindset in students and in transmitting a general scientific culture that will be precious to their future. Scientific course and projects are carried out as often as possible in a multi-disciplinary manner and often in English as of 4th grade.

These classes aim at:

In Maths

The manipulation of solid multiples as of primary allows to put into place basic concepts and to undertake the solving of complex problems. The aim is to develop research capacities, students' reflection and reasoning, to install strong foundations in all mathematical fields. Mental arithmetic is a daily practice.

In Sciences

Questioning, formulating hypotheses, experimentation, discussion, formalization, written reporting, are systematically put into place and allow for a dynamic teaching of which the students are the driving engines. This is the principle behind the program « La Main à la Pâte » which is put in place in primary and is strongly recognized in France and throughout the world.

« We learn though action, by investing of ourselves; we learn progressively, by making mistakes; we learn by interacting in pairs and with those who are more expert, by explaining one's point of view in writing, by exposing ideas to others, by confronting other points of view and experimental results to test pertinence and validity. »

Georges Charpak, Nobel Prize in Physics 1992 and architect of the program « La main à la pâte »
